Continental Center of Arcane

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
The Continental Center of Arcane, officially Centro Continentale di Studi Arcani, Eredità Elfica e Conoscenza Divina di Vintia (Vintic: Vintia's Continental Center for Arcane Studies, Elven Heritage and Divine Knowledge), also known as the Vintian Center of Arcane and often abbreviated as CCA, is a CAG school campus for basic studies and general research of Arcane Magic. It contains the CAG’s administrative center, and houses the largest temple of Talador on Theras.

Structure

The CCA has three schools, dedicated for teaching; twelve faculties, primarily concerned with researching their respective fields, while some also teach students of the different schools; and two independent establishments, which are within campus grounds but are not part of the academy per se.

Faculties

Faculties of Arcane
  • Faculty of Abjuration
  • Faculty of Conjuration
  • Faculty of Divination
  • Faculty of Enchantment
  • Faculty of Evocation
  • Faculty of Illusion
  • Faculty of Necromancy
  • Faculty of Transmutation
  •
    Faculty of Elementologism
Deals with research and advanced studies; offers no courses for students and faculty members don’t hold lectures, though some rare exceptions may apply.
    Faculty of the Planes
  • Department of exoplanar research, concerned with the Outer Planes.
  • Department of endoplanar research, concerned with the elemental planes of Air, Earth, Fire and Water.
  • Department of secondary planes, concerned with the Feywild and the Shadowfell
  •
    Faculty of Divine Knowledge
  • Department of theosophy and theology. Concerned with the influence of deities over the material planes; the pathways of Divine Magic through spellcasters; and the nature of the metaphysical element of faith.
  • Department of dual Magic forms. Concerned primarily with Blood Magic; limited historic research into High Elven Magic.
  • Department of theogeny. Concerned with the origin of primordials; the cosmic role of gods; and the origins of deities and the process of apotheosis.
  • Faculty of Elven Heritage
A faculty that, in practice, deals with history and archeology; holds no lectures and offers no courses. The faculty is mostly concerned with preserving Mith-Quessir culture and researching lost arts, such as arcane archery and bladesinging. Funded and established by House Albvxiis.

    Schools

    Wizardry School
As the name implies, the wizardry school teaches, trains, and qualifies wizards. The standard curriculum includes twelve semesters of theoretical studies; after which, wizards either continue for two more semesters of practicum, or they may continue specializing as interns for two to five semesters in one of the faculties for a specific school of magic.
    Sorcery School
This school, which teaches and trains sorcerers, has an extremely high bar for entry. The standard curriculum includes two semesters of theoretical studies, followed by four semesters of practicum. The main purpose of this school is to grant and improve the sorcerers’ control over the magic they wield, rather than teach them about magic or qualifying them as practitioners.
    Parawizardry School
Prep school for magi and arcane tricksters; the curriculum includes three semesters of studies, after which students continue for three semesters of practicum in Seitorri. It also includes a school for craft-magi, who study for six semesters of mixed practicum and theory.

    Independent Establishments

    Arcane Advisory Council
The seat of power and headquarters of the CAG advisory commitee, a major player in Corgomuran politics. The council convenes and resides inside a Mage’s Magnificent Mansion, whose entrance’s location is a closely kept secret.
    Temple of Talador
A very tall tower located in the faculty of divine knowledge. Worship of Talador is practiced primarily by the Andorian Church and Quintists, with the former worshipping him together with The Four and the latter viewing religion as a private matter; therefore, there aren’t many temples dedicated solely to him. Being the largest temple does not place it anywhere near being as big as other largest temples for other gods, such as Helena’s Beauty, Kord’s Strategos Ascendant Institute, Bane’s Landesgriff, or Brandobaris’s Gallery.
