Lauren Stone
Lauren Stone would inherit the responsibility of leading a broken and horrified movement. This is the beginning of what became known as the red schism, as this was the time when different philosophies began to emerge regarding the passion, and altered state of mind that occurs when one that goes too far while using Arcana Sanguis.
This became a priority of her time as the matron. Lauren wanted the organization to heal, even taking the entire movement away from their sanctuary and to the new world. While there were many in the organization that did not share the same belief, the organization moved to the forests of Canada. Afterwards, establishing its first safe house in New York City after centuries of isolation.
Lauren’s death in 1806 left the movement in ruins. The healing of the cult fueled a need to help others, which led to her death as she assisted in smuggling runaway slaves across the northern United States and out of the country. One of those she succeeded in saving, Ambrosine Hayes, became the following matron.
