The Pallid Conduit was an artifact that was kept in the centre of the Forgotten Forest within the Seelie Realm, when it was known as the Pallid Grove. The conduit was a gift to the forests from Nellara, and maintained the seasons of the surrounding four forests. With the active Pallid Conduit, the seasons would rotate in the forrests surrounding the Pallid Grove, and the Fey within would shift along with the seasons where they would reside. The Conduit was fueled by Myhe Sylvanis, the moon of the Feywild. In turn, Myhe Sylvanis became reliant on the Conduit, her orbit permanently changed by its magic.

History

The Pallid Grove flourished as long as its conduit gave light. As it did, the forests around the Grove would rotate between the four seasons - as one side of the forest was in winter, its opposite was in summer. The Pallid Conduit could not house the entirety of the power that kept the Grove, however - the Conduit required a Scion. Each century, when Myhe Sylvanis was directly above the Pallid Conduit, the child born within the Pallid Grove became that Scion, taking a part of the Conduit's power into themselves. Aiding the Conduit in its duties.

The Birth of Ravelle

In the year 72 A.G.W., the Scion was born known as Ravelle. She was not unlike her forebearers - she led the Grove, she harnessed the moon's light, and she was a kind and caring leader. But she united the Grove and the forests in a way they had never been united before. She urged them to look past their differences, and encouraged people not to see the Grove as an untouchable source of the forests' seasonal shifts, but instead as an ally and an equal. The forests, united, posed a threat to Yxjun and his ilk, however, and he could not stand the following that Ravelle was gathering.

The Shattering of the Pallid Conduit

And so, in his moment of rage, Yxjun sent his most devoted follower, Sha'Ren the Lost, to destroy the Conduit that had given Ravelle her power. He wanted to see her ruined, her forest destroyed. And so Sha'Ren did as he was directed, and destroyed the Pallid Conduit. the Pallid Grove became the Forgotten Forest, and the forrest surrounding it remained stuck in the seasons they were currently subject to. The united forests split into five, and Myhe Sylvanis never shone on the Feywild again. But her people looked to Ravelle for guidance, and their faith in her was stronger than ever. And Yxjun's plans to tear her down only made her stronger.

Remnants of the Pallid Conduit

When the Pallid Conduit was shattered, it was not fully destroyed. Though its fragments were scattered across the forests, or prehaps across the entirety of the Feywild, they are rumoured to still contain some of Myhe Sylvanis' power. Some believe that if these pieces are reunited, the Pallid Conduit could be reformed, and restore the light of the Pallid Grove.

This is such a sad bit of worldbuilding. I'm glad that it made Ravelle stronger, though.
