The Laws of Seireitei
The world of Seireitei functions on three main principles: Reiryoku (spiritual power), Reiatsu (spiritual pressure), and Reishi (spirit particles).
While Reiryoku and Reiatsu are often spoken about together, the two are very different. Reiryoku is the amount of spiritual energy that a being has stored within their body or soul, while Reiatsu is the pressure that a being's spiritual power exerts. This means that Reiryoku is potential while Reiatsu is energy that is in use and can be sensed by other beings that are spiritually aware.
Cosmology
It is unknown how Soul Society came to be, but it is assumed that both the World of the Living and Soul Society came to be at the same time. As long as there are Souls that live and die, there must be a balance between the two worlds.
Principal Geography & Features
Soul Society is a large world, with its central point being the Seireitei. Beyond the edges of the Seireitei and the Rukongai are the Badlands, a desert and plains that are mostly unknown.
The World of the Living is much more diverse, more similar to the real world. This area is meant to be based upon Japan, but we have changed some things to better fit our narrative.
Initial Active Setting
The initial size of the setting focuses on the Seireitei and the close areas around it as well as a small area of the World of the Living focused around Karnik Town.
