Personal history

Jamel was accepted into his order of priests when he turned 20. His entire village was very devoted to following the Shino. He fell in love with a woman named Sybell at the age of 22. His order does not allow marriage and therefore Jamel did not speak of his affection. Jamel and Sybell were married a few years later and had a daughter by the name of Lanaiya. When Lanaiya was only a few months old, the order found out about Jamel’s marriage and captured him and his wife. Lanaiya was smuggled out of the city while Jamel watched as his order took Sybell and burned her at the stake in front of him. They then threw Jamel into a small holding cell with nothing but the Shino. He was tortured for nearly 40 years. During the time he was in prison, Jamel studied the Shino from front to back, hoping that one day he would be able to come close enough to his god to be able to resurrect his long lost wife (this is why he recites the Shino constantly).
