Seneschal

A Seneschal is a lord who is appointed by the Duke of Navara to handle matters of the crown in the city. The Seneschals serve in the House of Nobles and their duties varies from monetary to clerical and even the protection of the city's denizens.

Appointment

When a Seneschal dies, the House of Nobles gathers its assembly to appoint a new one in their place. While the title is not hereditary, it is not uncommon for a son to inherit their father's position as they would usually be educated and trained in the matter since a young age.
