Doge
A Doge is the ruler of a Free City in the territory of the Republic of Kishara. While their office can be compared to that of a Mayor it also shares several characteristic of barons and dukes. Doges come from prominent families of the city, usually banking or trading but land ownership is also an important factor. Doges are elected to rule as dictators for their entire lifetime and their titles are hereditary, unless contested by another family prior to their death.
