Master of Services Mara Layla Qamaar (a.k.a. The Desert Rose)
One can not visit the city of Ashamaal without hearing of "The Desert Rose" Lady Layla. She can be seen some nights gliding through the tents of Heart's Desire charming many guests and encouraging their continued patronage. She is the envy of many and the desire of many, sometimes both to the same person. Usually she will favor them with but a few moments of her time, though always leaving them in a better mood than before she arrived. She has averted many problems and fights with her presence and words. If necessary she is an accomplished fighter and can defend herself adequately, but the The Moonlight Guard are always nearby, and rarely does it come to that.
Occasionally she will spend hours with an individual who catches her interest chatting, eating, and drinking with them, and perhaps participating in some of the games with them. Many request her time or have asked for her hand, but her time is her own and she has yet to show any interest in settling down in marriage.
She is well loved by those who know her, none of whom would willingly allow harm to come to her. To most she is known only as an important person within the tents of Heart's Desire whose word is obeyed without question. Fewer know her as the Master of Services and head of the Qamaar corporation, though it is no secret.
