Kora, the Dawnbringer Character in Malkora | World Anvil

Seek a new dawn, in Malkora!

Kora, the Dawnbringer

This article is a concept created during SummerCamp 2023! It is subject to changes, retcons, or may be sent to the secret vault after the event.

To lead into the light of a new day, those who wish only to be led to the comfort of a grave, takes strength beyond measure. Such a quality among the ancients, so far into the Nameless Age, was nigh unheard of.
Kora, the Dawnbringer is a Champion of the Dawn, a historical champion of the goddess known as Vosra, the New Dawn.

Hand of Dawn

Now a deity in her own right, she sits at the right hand of the New Dawn and stands alongside her fellow Champions of the Dawn within the Council of the Ascended. The name of the known world, Malkora, boasts Kora as its namesake, cementing her status as the symbol of the end of the Nameless Age.

First Voice of the Gods

Before she was a Champion of the Dawn, Kora was a young girl living in the region now known as Ba'Logor, to the north of the Kingdom of Arsavela. She was the first to make contact with the gods, something which at first painted her to be a madwoman. She would slowly instill faith in the people around her, preaching and pleading with her kin to believe her stories. Her refusal to give up the hope of a salvaged world permitted the gods to enter the plane and begin exerting their influence on the crumbling, war-torn world.

Domain of Faith

Kora today stands as the goddess of faith and perseverance, the traits she cited as being the most valuable to human survival in the Nameless Age. Through these domains, she acts as a patron to those who fear they have lost their way and need a guiding light, as well as those who actively pursue and participate in faithful activity. Faithful of all gods often look to her for guidance, for her human perspective on life and the value of faith in their lives.   Kora's ancient home in Ba'Logor remains a sacred holy site occupied by the devoted of the New Dawn, who seldom allow visitors or pilgrims, except in rare cases and particular celebrations.
Humanity's Guide
The Antecedents barely survived throughout the Nameless Age, withering away with each passing year. What once stood as a proud global empire teetered at the edge of life and death, the balance tipping ever closer to the side of death.   Kora's initiative and faith set in motion the events which brought the Antecedents from the brink of extinction to the beginning of a new era. Though the Antecedents still ceased to exist at the turn of the era, their legacy was preserved through the humans who would follow in their footsteps.

Leader of the Champions
One of the first Champions of the Dawn, Kora earned her status as champion of the New Dawn by spreading the goddess's light not only through the region of her home, but eventually most of the world.   She would meet the other champions of the Dawn through her travels and, in igniting their faith, they came lead as champions in their own rights.

Charming, refreshing, and uplifting are the three words I would choose to describe this article. I really love this concept and you've presented it very nicely. (Especially for a SC draft, LOL!)
