Entelen
How we seethed as we saw the carriages emerge from the Crossing, to turn towards the path of Eletta, and not to our gates. Were we not the bastion of faith the Church needed? Did we not live and breathe in the words of the goddess all this time? They deny us that which they have promised, and which we have rightfully earned. This injustice reaches the goddess and she weeps for her children.Entelen is a city in Vynarsa, a close neighbor to its capital city Eletta.
Of the Holiest Days
In Entelen's past, the city was regarded as one of Vosra's most holy cities. Through its involvement with the Church of Dawn, Entelen's population and leadership built much of the foundations of Vynarsa's greater culture of faith and worship, facilitating even the construction of the Ivory Sanctum, which yet stands as the Church's most sacred structure.Fall from Grace
Relics of old are exceptionally rare and priceless gifts — but one was promised to the city of Entelen for its contributions to the Church of Dawn. It was with eager hearts that the people awaited the delivery of a relic delivery scouts had caught wind of, only to receive news that this relic found its destination in a different city: their neighbor, Eletta. Among the faithful, there was confusion. Among the leadership, there was dismay. Among the ministry, there was rage. As the principal church of Eletta received their relic, that which Entelen believed it was promised, an assault was plotted and mounted against their once-beloved sister city. The Siege of Eletta was a conflict which shattered the relations between these two cities to an irreparable degree.Excommunications en Masse
With the resources expended by the Church of Dawn to protect and aid Eletta's people from Entelen's jealous strike, the aggressor's eventual defeat left its ministry in the ashes of a failed conflict. The Church looked down upon the act, calling it abhorrent and an affront to all their faith stands for. In the wake of the attempted siege, The Church of Dawn elected to excommunicate the ministry of Entelen from its church, prompting the city to evolve its own faith independent of the church it had supported for so long.Poor Decisions & Poorer Timing
Entelen's defeat in the Siege of Eletta came with the simultaneous delivery of heartbreaking news: another holy relic, the one truly promised to Entelen, was already en route to the city as the conflict unfolded. This shipment came to be halted at the Ivory Sanctum, in light of the recent events. The relic which was to reside within Entelen's walls, now sits in a Church of Dawn compound west of Eletta.Finding a New Path
Though Entelen is still considered to be a holy city of Vosra, its faiths and practices are wholly separated from the Church of Dawn. Their shattered faith forged a new shard of the goddess, which the people have carried forward in the wake of their disgrace and shame at the actions of their leaders.Want Secrets?
