The Observant Spectre

The Xi'Quan are a naturally fated species which rally around a strongly unified racial council & harbor a distinct, secretive culture. Borne many ages ago, the Xi'Quan endlessly seek knowledge of their race's past & seek to unveil the mysteries of the future - a future they believe to reach far above the world, and will require their wings to reach.

Xi'Quan are built average to most other Humans but feature diminutive, dark-colored horns & spectral, dark-feathered wings.

Growth Rate & Stages

Xi'Quan take approximately twenty-five years from the date of their birth to reach adulthood - this period varies based on a multitude of factors including but not limited to;

Diet

During this period, a Xi'Quan will always experience a sudden premonition that marks its first steps into ascendancy and serves as a cultural 'coming of age' experience known as Unshrouding.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Xi'Quan feed off the memories of the world around them, subsisting themselves off the magical traces left behind by the happenings of the world. A more vicious or predacious Xi'Quan may feed off the memories of a living creature, sapping them of their life & magic.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Xi'Quan are gifted the capacity for great perception. Their sight can see the Soul of most living things, and unveil the memories of their surroundings with quite some accuracy. In addition to their extrasensory capabilities, the Xi'Quan have notably more astute hearing & sight than the normal Human.

Naming Traditions

The Xi'Quan do not follow any specific naming traditions, but do append a family and a court name to the front & end of their names, respectively. ex; Mardock-Hanna-Brunae (family)-(individual)-(court)

Major Organizations

The Xi'Quan Council represents the interests & unity of the Xi'Quan as a whole. Having been deeply respected throughout Tawdrii & playing host to some of the most insightful minds of the world, the council is ever more important in the wake of the collapse of The Veil. In the wake of the collapse, the council guided hundreds of Xi'Quan successfully through the veil; but lost countless millions more.

History

Imbued with a hunger for knowledge, The Krow once groomed the Xi'Quan in the forests of Tawdrii, guiding their capabilities & favouring the strong to develop their race into what it has become today. When The Krow had his fate cut short, the patronage of the Xi'Quan also ended, tying their fate back to Tawdrii.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

A checkered past with the Des'mour & the Valmour as a sister-species & rival to their race continues to drive a deeply rooted distaste for their golden-clad counterparts. On multiple occasions, the Xi'Quan Council has declared a Feud with their gilded kin.
