Ioanna Christopoulos Character in The Works of Johannes T. Evans | World Anvil

Ioanna Christopoulos

Ioanna Christopoulos

Ioanna Christopoulos was a very quiet woman, particular and very stern in her ways. Uncomfortable with extended conversations, and a woman immensely concerned with politeness and people's place in the world, she was a deeply devout Christian, and prayed each morning and each afternoon.    She was an artist, and although never classically trained, she sketched very often with chalks and later, pencils: when her son, Theophilus, showed an interest in her artwork, she began to teach him herself, and quietly pushed him in the direction of art as a career. She was disappointed when her son chose to be a clerk instead, and this disappointment was only amplified when her son took up with a strange Frenchman and ran abroad with him.
