Winning and Losing

There is exactly one way to win a battle: The MM says you won.   Winning conditions for battles include:
  • All enemy tanks are incapacitated or killed
  • All enemy tanks ran away
  • All enemy tanks surrendered
  • Etc.
  There can be other conditions that equal a victory.   It’s also possible to lose a battle. This can happen in the exact opposite scenarios of the ones listed above:
  • You and your allies are all incapacitated or killed
  • You and your allies all fled
  • You and your allies all surrendered
  • Etc.
 

VICTORY

If you win the battle, you can loot the incapacitated or dead tanks for parts or valuables. The ability check for this is Perc (Ins). You can simply take items, but salvaging parts from a tank usually requires a Dex + MechaniCon check.   In the event of a victory for you and your allies, every tank who participated in the battle gains Experience Points. DEFEAT

On a defeat, your MM decides about consequences. If you and all your allies have been killed, your adventure is obviously over. If you are merely incapacitated, someone may come by and repair you. Running away from a fight or surrendering may have various results.

DRAWS

In some rare cases, the MM may decide that the battle ends in a draw – neither side wins or loses. The consequences for this vary from battle to battle.
