Fauna Elf
No words left her mouth and yet, they came to an understanding. Knowing she was an ally, the large beast allowed her to come near and help him. From that day on he would watch over her and wait for an opportunity to repay her kindness.Fauna Elves are often mistaken for timid or shy due to their tendency to refrain from speaking. Fauna Elves rely heavily on their natural connection with animals and often opt to spend their time with various beasts over their own kind. Despite their soft image, the Fauna Elves are actually extremely fierce fighters. They often adapt their fighting style and general movements to resemble that of their favorite animals. Some of histories most legendary figures were actually Fauna Elves. Unlike their Elvish siblings, the Fauna Elves do not have any known major settlements. Often roaming the land either in small groups, or alone with only a few animal companions, they tend to prefer to live in nature as a protector of the various creatures throughout the land. While some of them will blend and conform to more "normal society" it is not uncommon for these elves to live in trees, caves, and other natural structures to be closer to their animal friends. Some will go so far as to reject the notion of being an elf all together. Just as some cultures believe that everyone has a perfect "soul mate" waiting for them to fall madly in love with, the Fauna Elves believe in a "creature soul." While there is nothing romantic about a "creature soul," it is believed that out in the universe there is one creature that holds a part of an elf’s soul. When that creature is found, an elf is said to experience an instant, and overwhelming feeling of connection and recognition. Finding one's "soul creature" is considered the most important and impactful part of any elf's legacy. Many Elves will dedicate decades or even centuries searching and focusing on finding that creature; sadly, many also never find it.~Tales of Ursaria
