Vampires are vile creatures that prey in the night. Their motive is through their lust and thirst for blood. They are creatures born in the Night World who infiltrated the nobility of Atharia before the Decade of Darkness. During this deathly time, Vampire Lords ruled over much of Atharia.

Description

Vampires are bipedal, slender and sentient. They have very similar features to the People of Atharia, which is what makes them dangerous. As they look like an ordinary person, they can blend into any society of Atharia.

Sunlight

Firstly, Vampires cannot be in direct contact with sunlight. So they either stay inside buildings or in the shadows, or they try to fully wrap themselves up.
Their weakness towards sunlight does not effect them immediately. Gradually

Impact on Atharia

Vampires infiltrated Atharia in the lead up to their Conquest in the Decade of Darkness.

Mostly ruled over Brostia when they started the Conquest, then each of the Realms began to be over run by the Creatures of the Night, until the Hefflings saved the world.

A brief description on The Thirst.

Drink blood to survive... etiquette of only drinking the blood of a person/humanoid. Blood of an animal is disgusting towards the more "civilised" vampire.

The Thirst, a curse that a Vampire can spread to an Atharian, which may turn them into a Vampire.

Atharians who lost their soul to the Night through the curse: The Thirst.

Souless

Vampires have no soul, which may explain their thirst for Blood, as they have no Essence. They need Essence to survive, even though they're creatures of the night.
