Chapter 20 THE SPIRIT-DEAD

This chapter builds on concepts established in Chapter 9.     In the NAPOX the spirit-dead and Spiritkind walk side by side and for the most part look identical. They can be told apart by their actions, but discernment in the short term is anything but scientific.
“A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad.” MATTHEW 12:33 NLT
In the SUPOX, however, I imagine there is a clear distinction. The spirit-dead are dull and grey, something with the form of that once alive but now hardened, lifeless and decaying. Spiritkind in contrast are luminescent, bathed in the flame of the Spirit and glow ever brighter as they mature.
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18 NLT
The visible difference between the two factions of Mankind, however, is only the start. The inconvenient truth is that comfortable coexistence between the spirit-dead and Spiritkind is simply not possible.   Spiritkind has a future whereas the spirit-dead do not. Spiritkind are designated by God to become the dominant force, heirs of his own kingdom and rulers of the earthen realm. The spirit-dead are condemned not just by their failure to transform into Spiritkind but by providing safe lodging for evil. Within their own hearts they not only shelter all sorts of corruption, but they have also given over the earth's SUPOX as a refuge for the devil and his fallen angels.   They have assigned themselves, and the earth beneath their feet, as fuel for the flames. Mankind is aware of this separation only in so far as they can smell it. The devil and his fallen followers are not so blind, and they both see and understand the difference. To the spirit-dead the scent of life is repugnant, it stirs up the stagnant stench of their own perishing flesh. Recoiling as the odor fills their lungs, the fallen have no trouble whipping up an irrational but visceral hatred of Spiritkind. Carrying the aroma of heaven, Spiritkind finds themselves persecuted - viciously maligned for no reason other than that they are alive.
But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. 2 CORINTHIANS 2:14-16 NIV

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me.” JOHN 15:18-21 NIV
