The Queen Bee

She was best known as The Queen Bee. Queen Dani was one of the first queens in the realm and established House Apis in November of 2020 and the Stinger Squadron in May 2022.

The Queen's Personal Side

Queen Dani had a penchant for sticky notes and witty poems. Her wisdom in the fields of organization and limiting one's tasks to best use what energy one has to accomplish those tasks was well known throughout the GoTverse. She strove to encourage everyone she encountered and was a delight and inspiration to all.

Closure of House Apis

On September 14, 2022, for health reasons, Her Royal Majesty closed the hive. These were her last missives before going into a permanent hibernation.

My dearest Bees, I have sad news, but I want you to know that everything will bee okay. This year has been a year, has it not? After July I did a lot of soul searching on what I can and can not accomplish--and keep up with--while I continue to recover from last year's surgeries. In order to give myself actual time to recover, which I haven't been very good at. The result is that I need to level up my self-care, so that recovery can happen, and unfortunately that also means putting down a lot of plates in order to prevent sickness and/or burnout. Quite sadly, I need to announce that the plate of streaming and leading House Apis is one of those I need to set down. This means two things for y'all: I will step down as Queen of the bees, and House Apis will bee lovingly closed up over the next couple of weeks. I wanted to let you all know now so that you have time to find your way to other houses, so that you can both get cozy there before the battle for the Tome begins in November AND so that if you have any roleplaying active, you'll be able to make adjustments for that. (Yes, there will be lore--nothing tragic: Apis is going out on a comedic note beecause, and hopefully you'll love it!) Don't worry; I'm not gone! I'll be visiting GoT streams and getting words in November. Over the next month and a half, I urge you to poke around the other houses available in Game of Tomes and find the one that fits you best! As for me, though it was not formally announced, Apis was planning to support House Meles for November, and to keep my commitment there, I'll be sprouting fur and claws and participating as a badger. A honey badger. Muhahah Again, it'll bee okay, and I'm sending you all tons of hugs because y'all are amazing and I've been so proud of the way you support folks hereabouts. I know you'll take that with you wherever you go. And YOU will bee okay, no matter where you decide to bee (or well, maybe not to bee, but perhaps blub? or meow? or badge? lol!) A series of sticky notes were found carefully stuck in a grid over the entirety of the doors to the Queen's chamber. It read, in enormous letters which could be seen from down the hall:

"FORGIVE ME DEAREST BEES!
I SIMPLY CANNOT STAY!
FILKS FILL MY BRAIN WITH TOO MUCH EASE,
I CAN NO LONGER KEEP THE SONGS AT BAY!
SADLY I MUST TAKE MY LEAVE
BEFORE THE PLAGUE DOES SPREAD.
SO PLEASE REMEMBER OUR CREED
THE HIVE IS TIRELESS, WE'VE SAID.
AND TIME AND TIME AGAIN
WE'VE PROVEN THIS, MY BEES,
NO MATTER WHERE WE GO, NO MATTER WHERE WE'VE BEEN.
