The Watcher on the Rock

An isolated lighthouse

This article is a stub. Please comment if you would like it to become a priority for expansion.
The Watcher on the Rock is a lighthouse located in the Grey Waters, perched on a tiny spit of rock. The rock itself is not named, though locals usually refer to it as Watcher's Rock. Though not counted amongst the ninety named Seruic islands, it the lighthouse and the rock it sits on are under Seruic rule.   The lighthouse is a tall cylindrical structure that takes up most of the space on the rock itself. It is about 25 metres high, and consists of a lantern room, a bedroom, a kitchen, and two storage rooms all stacked on top of each other. At any time, there are two lighthouse keepers living in the lighthouse, and they tend to live there for two years at a time. Supplies are dropped off by ship every four to five moons, depending on the weather. The delivering of supplies and the switchover of lighthouse keepers can only be done when the sea is calm.   The Watcher will celebrate its 100th birthday in the coming year (5347 EA).

How lovely and mysterious :) I live on the US PNW coast much of the year, and it makes me think of 'Terrible Tilly' near Cannon Beach, OR; an old lighthouse (in this case no longer in service), that can only be accessed when the seas are calm because of how rugged the place is. Is there other special significance to The Watcher on the Rock?

I looked up Terrible Tilly. She looks amazing. :D I was thinking of Bishop Rock (Isles of Scilly) when I was writing this, but I think this one has a bit more rock than that one. I live near Beachy Head lighthouse in southeast England, so I've always enjoyed lighthouses.   I'm thinking there's probably at least one ghost story associated with the place. Maybe a murder. It was probably built in response to a maritime disaster. The Grey Waters are a dangerous part of the ocean.   Thank you for the comment! :)
