The Watcher on the Rock is a lighthouse located in the Grey Waters, perched on a tiny spit of rock. The rock itself is not named, though locals usually refer to it as Watcher's Rock. Though not counted amongst the ninety named Seruic islands, it the lighthouse and the rock it sits on are under Seruic rule.
The lighthouse is a tall cylindrical structure that takes up most of the space on the rock itself. It is about 25 metres high, and consists of a lantern room, a bedroom, a kitchen, and two storage rooms all stacked on top of each other. At any time, there are two lighthouse keepers living in the lighthouse, and they tend to live there for two years at a time. Supplies are dropped off by ship every four to five moons, depending on the weather. The delivering of supplies and the switchover of lighthouse keepers can only be done when the sea is calm.
The Watcher will celebrate its 100th birthday in the coming year (5347 EA).
