The Shadefolk

Merfolk of the Shademire

The Shadefolk are a group of freshwater merfolk who live in the Seruic swamp known as the Shademire. The swamp is part of the floodplain for the River Gloaming and grows deeper and wider during the colder months when the river floods.
Their ruler is known as the Lord of the Shademire, though is not necessarily male. They are both the physical and spiritual leader of the Shadefolk, and protect their people and the swamp itself.
They have a good relationship with the Low Lord Dunn and his family, whose ancestors were given the land around the Shademire by the High Lord Elenasia as an insult centuries prior. The two lords have an annual meeting to discuss things.
