The Enervant Age is the current age on Etrea, with the current year being 5346 EA. It marks the passing of years since the Renewal, a calamitous event where the land was wiped clean, and sapient life awoke with no memories of what had come before.
Until the invention of the Etrean Standard Calendar, the classification of the age was only used by a small number of scholars who were studying global history. It was originally created as a neutral date to orient events across time, as many countries had their own ways of marking the years. The creators of the calendar adopted the notation of the Enervant Age to further their goals of streamlining internation cooperation and trade, so it spread across the globe as the calendar did.
