The Argonish
Sheep farmers of the isles

The humans of the isle of Argony are a peaceful folk, content with the slowness of their rural life. With a population of only around four hundred and no means to repel attackers from the outside, the Argonish accepted the rule of the country of Serukis, and pay taxes in return for protection. They do not pay taxes in coin, but in goods such as textiles and food. Sheep farming is the island's main industry, along with fishing.
Argony itself is a relatively flat island, covered with grasses and rocks; there is no wood on the island, so people have learnt to build with stone and build fires with dry sod or manure.
The Argonish have adopted the worship of the Elemental Monarchs, but there is no recorded history of who or what they may have worshipped before. The only clue is a ring of standing stones in the centre of the island, which has long since been adapted into a place to worship Faolan, the Lord of the Earth.
