Teht Krekahw is a city state on the continent of Aenica, located on the border of Ibatrene. It is inhabited by the Kawhai, who also call themselves the Truefolk, a nation of shapeshifters. The city is built into the sheer cliffs of the eastern side of the Great Northern Spine, located on the large mountain of Ebresh. It was built to be practically inaccessible to those without wings; as such, around ninety five percent of the demographic are avian shapeshifters.
The city itself is around a thousand years old, originally founded by shapeshifters who were being persecuted in Ibatrene. In its early years, tunnels were built from the foot of the mountain up to where the city would eventually be built, primarily for the purpose of transporting materials such as wood and stone. These tunnels were shut down after around two hundred years due to several raids by the Ibrish.
The name is said to come from the old Ibrish word for witch, kekker, a deliberate snide reference to the persecution they faced in Ibatrene.
