Lura

Of fire and flowers

Lura is the most western country on the continent of Aenica. Most of Lura is surrounded by coastline, but it does share an eastern land border with the country of Scarda. Whilst famously a primarily flat country, Lura's landscape is marred by three isolated volcanoes, each of their peaks able to be seen from miles around. Whilst most of the country now follows the tenets of the Faith, these volcanoes are still considered sacred by many Lurans.   Lura is famous for the spectacles of its flower markets, especially the annual month long exhibition in the capital city of Malashta. More than half the arable farmland in the country is dedicated to the growing of flowers instead of crops.

With so much of their agricultural land devoted to flowers, are they producing enough food to support their population? Or do they import it?

They import a lot of it, yes, but the food crops they do grow are ones that stretch a long way, such as rice.

What do they do with all the flowers? Sounds like it would be a beautiful place.

They really value beauty, especially when fleeting. So displays, mostly. Though some are more valued for perfume or culinary purposes.

I dread to think of the potential dangers of treating volcanoes as sacred focal points like the Lurans seem to be doing.
