Malashta is the capital city of Lura, the country's centre of culture, art, and religion. With a population of several hundred thousand, it is the largest settlement in Lura. It is a city of extremes, with the desperately poor living in slums stacked against the walls of elaborate noble estates. Two of the seven palaces belonging to the Luran royal family are also located in the city.
Malashta hosts a month long flower exhibition every year in the late summer. Visitors come from all over the world to see the blooms, and the city's inns and hotels turn a good profit. Unfortunately, crime also rises in the city during this period, and many tourists hire sellswords - usually from amongst the very same people who would steal from them. Despite this, Malashta remains one of the most visited cities in all of Etrea.
