Antari

Harsh but sacred

Antari is a small island to the south of the country of Ilwyrika, part of the continent of Caia. Much of the land is flat, unsheltered tundra, constantly beaten by cold sea winds, with only a few patches of scraggly conifer trees. The coastlines are high rocky cliffs, with long stretches of sand and pebble beach. Much of Antari's wood comes from mainland Ilwyrika, transported over in the winter months when the Ilwyrikan Sea is frozen.
Antari has a population of around four hundred people, almost entirely humans, and three permanent settlements. The island is ruled by a coucil of elders. The land itself is considered sacred to the Antarish people.
