The Solstice Tournament

The entire conference floor had been divided into countless faires, arenas and boothes. Each area boasted and championed it's own element of Jhoutai's culture.

Nearest to me, I could see a massive series of sculptures coming to life from the remains giant corralum chunks. A whole squad of Helyk attended each pillar, carving out intricate details with their bare claws and metaphysical strength. Across from that, a group of Bridge players prepared their armor and practiced their moves in preparation for their next competitor.

The whole place was abuzz with activity, and it made me very glad this was a multiday celebration.

The Solstice Tournament is a week-long festival held during the week of season change between spring and summer. First made popular by the Sazashi on Jhoutai, the practice spread rapidly to Earth after Advent.

The event is a celebratory festival of the arts and sports that brings people together. It is run by a larger governing body, typically the local government. Any group is welcome to set up an exhibition or an arena for their event as long as it is approved by the local government first.

The events differ widely from physical, to mental, and everything in between.
