Sky's Dive

Sun's high and mists replenish!

Waters high and shores are verdant!

Go out on a sunny day if you want to catch a fish!

Go out on a dark day if you want to be caught by ants!

— The first verse of Sky's Dive

Sky's Dive is a song sung about Mazzu meeting the personificiations of the different weathers of Yak'koli

Described Phenomena

  • Mistrise: When the sun is overhead and heats the cold waters of the channel enough to fill yakkoli with a westward drift of mist that's carried downstream through the
  • Mist Vortex: If an east-northeasterly wind blows in, the angle of it hitting the oculus causes some of the wind to whirl and spiral down into the ventricle. In some cases, this is enough to pull the mist into a wavering spire above the chandelier. When this happens, the rapid condensation tends to cause the mist to rain down ove rthe chandelier.
  • Warbles: As water ripples through the undersea, sometimes the shifts in tide and breeze cause loud notes to resonate through the undeground. This is a rarer occurence these days, as the undersea adds more and more defenses against dangerous resonance, but there are still days where low, headache-inducing notes can be felt vibrating through the undersea. Too prolonged a note can deal strutural damage, which is why there's so much work done to offset the possibility.
  • Myths based on Mazzu conquering every weather type, or making friends with it
  • Mazzu did a couple and wrote about them a bit but the song attributes many acts to him that aren't actually his
