Dyáwōn (DYAH-won)

An Indus Valley Diety

Dyáwōn

Dyáwōn rumbles in the highlands where wind cleaves mountain and storm shatters silence. Born of pre-Indo-European skies, he is the primal force of tempest and howl, the sky not as sovereign but as fury. He is cloud-tamer and storm-wielder, roaming with wild joy.   He appears as a sinewed giant cloaked in weather, lightning caught in his beard, a horned helm echoing thunderclaps. His hands are carved with ancient runes, and his laughter splits the sky.   His love is wild and weather-bound—sudden, electric, full of chase. He is drawn to the untamed, to kindred spirits who run with wind and roar with storm. To love Dyáwōn is to fly without wings, fall without fear.
