PBP Search Continues

Crossroads ...

With a heavy heart I must pause the Play by Post campaign until further notice and consider how to proceed forward with Discussion Boards or an alternative.
I will focus on concluding the Shadow of Consequence thread so as to not leave it hanging.

Where we were ...

About six months ago we moved our play-by-post campaign from Discord to World Anvils Discussion Boards. We found Discord great for quick player to player communication and very poor for in character posts and keeping the threads organized. Discord was great for lots of Dice Bots.

... where we are.

After six months of using the Discussion Boards for our Play By Post campaign we have gained many amazing World Anvil integrations and formatting.

The Challenges

Advanced Dice
Its like we have one foot in both worlds between Discord and the Discussion Boards when it comes to dice. We have continued to use Discord dice bots to handle the game system dice mechanics. The dice as they stand at current are not capable of running dice pool systems or advanced dice mechanics like 2d20 or Storyteller.

Mentions
Writing articles using the mention system is one of the areas World Anvil shines the most, being able to link years of content at the stroke of a key. Unfortunately this has also become on of my largest frustration with writing thread posts. The truth is that which becomes of chore is no longer fun.

A Few Quirks
While none of these are shattering items they are items common to most forums available. The ability to make sure I never miss a thread or thread post from a player is really important. I have some CSS hacky-ness that helps alert me but it is stopgap at best. The reply to a post which is currently disabled.

My Concerns & Fears

Please don't ever doubt I love World Anvil with the efforts and time that has been poured into it. In other places I must sometimes be silenced when singing the accolades of World Anvil.

Working 50-60 hours of non-gaming/non-worldbuilding time a week I need to utilize a method that just works without feeling like I have one foot in work-around mode. I also can't be a year invested and waffle between platforms switching hundreds of posts back and forth, its not fair to my players or myself.
