Description

You shoot a jolt of lightning at a creature, with it potentially leaping to another if it hits.

When using this ability, you make a ranged spell attack roll against the target.

Effects

On hit, the target takes 1d8 ↗⤴ Lightning damage.

After such, the arc of lightning jumps from the target to 1↗ other creature of your choice within 30 feet, using the same attack roll and dealing the same damage. You can also target an object instead of pre-bounce, hitting only one less creature but reaching outside of your normal range.

The bolt can damage or bounce to a target once⤴.

If you’re attacking an enemy with the Soaked condition, or if they are wearing any metal, the attack is made at ADVANTAGE.

Augmentation + other notes

↗/Augmented by Level: This spell’s damage increases by 1d8 and bounces to one additional target at certain Character levels. When you reach Character Level 5, it deals 2d8 with up to 3 targets, 3d8 with up to 4 targets at level 11, and 4d8 with up to 5 targets at level 17.

⤴/Augment Up: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 1st level or higher, the spell’s damage increases by 2d8 for each slot level used. Additionally, the spell can bounce back to the same target multiple times.
