You spent your early days in a religious monastery or cloister. You may have traveled out into the world to spread the message of your religion or because you cast away the teachings of your faith, but deep down you’ll always carry within you the lessons you learned. On the outside, there are people that share and recognize your experience, giving their hospitality to you and/or helping you on your adventures as you go.

Acolyte Inspirations

You gain Tokens of Inspiration by helping or protecting anyone who is as faithful as you. Helping could involve a great task or (gaining twice as much Inspiration if it's a quest). You also gain Inspiration from upholding the tennents of your or another's faith, Performing Rites when available.

 

Gameplay Additions

You gain the following...
    • Attribute Boosts
    • You gain 2 Attribute Boosts. Traditionally, Acolytes set at least one of theirs to Wisdom or Charisma.
    • Primary Skill Proficiencies
      • A Common Language of your choice.
      • Another Common Language of your choice, or a Profession skill of choice.
    • Gained Equipment
    • A holy symbol (a gift to you when you became a Parson), a prayer book or prayer wheel, 5 sticks of incense, vestments, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 sp.

Social Characteristics

Acolytes are shaped by their experience in temples or other religious communities. Their study of the history and tenets of their faith and their relationships to temples, shrines, or hierarchies affect their mannerisms and ideals. Their flaws might be some hidden hypocrisy or heretical idea, or an ideal or bond taken to an extreme.
  These Personality Traits, Ideals, Bonds, and Flaws are not linked in any way, and can be swapped with others from other backgrounds, or used in multitude. They are here to help you create a the social profile of a character, and role play them more effectively.
