Ancestry Statistics

These do not change, unless you have the corresponding Ancestry Talent. All AncestryName start with these.

Base Stats

    • Age. Changeling ages vary, depending on their origin. More mundane changelings origin.
    • Size. Changeling base sizes vary. Your Size is Small or Medum (your choice).
    • Associated Traits. Changeling, Shapechanger, and Humanoid
    • Traditional A.Boost Spread. Changelings are one of the few folk that specialize in either Wisdom or Charisma, with their other choice being whatever they want. Their varied nature gives them the ability to blend in or observe folks in ways others could dream of, but they always gravitate toward methods of hiding using their abilities.
    • Language(s). Common, 2 of other of your choice (+1 per your positive Cha Mod when starting the game, list here)
    • Speed(s). 25 ft
    • Special Senses. None
    • HP (+ HP/level). 8 (+1)

Ancestry Talents

Changeling Origin

Changeling abilities to blend into societies is second to none, with their ability to masquarade as others or forge their own identity being almost second nature.

You gain Proficiency with the Deception or Stealth primary skills. Additionally, you learn to don a Humanoid Visage, with a few extras in tow.

For 1 action / ◈, you supernaturally assume your humanoid visage. Each humanoid visage can take on the appearance of any Humanoid Ancestry. Each creature has a specifc and persistent Visage form(s) that do not change easily once chosen, but you can change to any form you've seen before, with the addition of making minor changes that don't involve colors and/or height. This effect lasts until you take a Long Rest, fall Unconscious, or until you cancel it using this ◈ again.

Unlike other Visages, this form is not Magical, and does not have the Magical trait or it's inherent weaknesses. Using this action counts as creating a disguise for yourself, allowing you to use Stealth or Deception to hide your true self.

This Talent cannot be swapped.

Changeling's Gambit

You contort your form into something or someone that may give an attacker pause.

You may use your reaction to impose Disadvantage on a Humanoid enemy who is attacking you, potentially causing an attack to miss. The humanoid creature must be able to percieve you (through sight or hearing), and must pass a Will save vs a DC equal to your Proficiency in Stealth or Deception + 10 (your choice). If they fail their save, that creature can't be fooled by this effect until after a Swift Rest.

Hyperdiversity

Diversity is your strength.

This trait can be swapped at level 1 for any other Skill or Ancestry Talent you qualify for. If you don't you may raise two of your Attribute scores by +1 (up to a +5 at level 1) instead.


  Once swapped, this trait cannot be regained.
