Psittaci Soundciter

Baby psittacis have to understand a range of vocals to survive - they are very loud people. Their chicks aren't exactly the most independent of people, hatching blind, featherless, and basically unable to function other than to eat enormous amounts of food.   Parents will constantly play soundkeepers around the nest, which display thousands of different psittaci calls, in the hopes that the chicks will quickly catch on. It is too much effort for the parents to teach their chicks how to speak for themselves, that'd take years.

Investment

All psittaci parents strive to purchase their first soundciter. The average soundciter costs around 8,000q, and is not something a typical psittaci family can purchase on a whim. Some save up for years, as it's not a "necessary" family item (necessary items get discounts for first-time parents). Luckily, they are built to last for decades.

Advice from parents

  • Don't get the TIX200 model; it set on fire and my babies almost became roast parrots!
  • The Scream Baby model is way too big for a typical nest room. I needed to take out an entire wall to get it in the house >:(
  • They're so worth it. Saved me entire days of my precious time as a first-time parent.
