Accomplishments & Achievements

Garl was captured by the Sindaeri in TA 3186 during a raid on Brenhaven, and imprisoned in Ázzurburán. He was rescued by the Strangers while they were imprisoned there too. He, in turn, aided in their escape and accompanied them during their underground adventures in Carthas.   Garl fought bravely and showed tremendous courage, earning the friendship and respect of the whole party. Bargo Brodálen, especially, grew fond of the man and offered his (and Stebby Surehand’s) help in finding Garl’s family, presumed dead after the Dark Elf assault.     As the trio made their way to Brenhaven, the two mercenaries began teaching Garl the rudiments of fighting. Garl’s burgeoning skills were put to the test many times as the three men encountered beasts and Gor’Kresh along their way. When Garl returned to Brenhaven he found his brother and sister-in-law were dead and their daughters were captured by the Sindaeri. Garl’s grief found an outlet in the constant skirmishes the town was still forced to fight with the emboldened Gor’Kresh. During these frequent fights, Garl’s skills grew and he also befriended some rangers, who were also defending the river towns. With the aid of his new friends, Garl discovered that his nieces were being held as slaves in a dark tower in northern Arnor (Taer-Sabal).   Garl set out to rescue his nieces and Stebby and Bargo joined him. During their rescue attempt, Garl was beset by dozens of foes, but Stebby and Bargo were separated from their barrel-making friend by opponents of their own. Among the Gor’Kresh were also several skeleton and zombie guards. Just when the two Dillbridgers were sure Garl would fall, something amazing happened. In his fury, Garl began to glow with an inner strength and the undead fled before him. His Gor’Kresh foes began to falter and he drove them off. After the successful rescue, Garl discovered he had been called to a higher purpose.   Garl Cooperson had become a paladin.
