Carthas (KAR-thuss)

A Caldanni stronghold in northern Arnor. Carthas was destroyed in TA 2813, in a battle with the Illithid, which sparked the Second War of Powers (the First being c. TA 2300 and dealing with the warring factions of Taer-Angólnim).
Carthas was sunk beneath the ground by the Caldanni defenders to prevent the enemy from taking it for their own. It was raised again in TA 3186 after it was discovered by the Strangers, who awoke the last guardian.
