Northern Mountain

Describe a natural or constructed wonder in your world. What purpose does it serve and what is the significance behind it?

Purpose / Function

The norther mountain is a massive structure that juts out of Ard'vanwa.   It's black peak can be seen anywyere on the island, and is often used as a navigation point when venturing out of Terris Burg   Only a few expiditions have ventured to the base, and found it's mostly solid metal of a strange variety. The Dwarven Hammer has smiths working on utilizing some of the samples, but they have either been too brittle to work, or too strong.   Many hammers and anvils have been broken up on salvaged ore from mountain, and the dwarves and smiths have given salvaged ore names that translate to various curses.   It aslo gives off a strong magnetic field, and compasses always point to it.   Nothing lives or grows at it's base, and it's eminations are powerfull enough to drive away Terry the Tarrasque.

Alterations

There was an attempt to make a base camp and establish a route between the mountain and Terris Burg, but the project was too fatal to attemt again.

Architecture

The mountain is a massive ore deposit that holds untold riches inside. The harsh enviroment around the mountain, and the creatures drawn to it's energy are shown to be more agressive.

History

It's unknown if Ard'Vanwa formed around the giant mountain, or if it was displaced and slammed into the siland. The mountain chain suggests a crator, but meteorological events such as rain and meteor strikes have never been witnessed.

A displaced object only ever shows up a few feet above the surface of the island.
