Eytemology
Imerkand is the country’s name, and Imerkand is pronounced Im-urre-kand, its adjective is Imerkanian, and its demonym is Imerkanian.The people are the Im-Talik, and Talikian is their possessive.
Geography
Perched on the northwestern most corner of Yndad, Imerkand faces the South Corlyn Ocean to the west, and the Imerkand Sea (part of the Arlyn Sea) to its north.
Climate
Most of Imerkand is arid, with temperate, coastal bands. It is oceanic along a narrow coastal band on west, and chaparral on a coastal strip in the north.
History
In antiquity, the Telith-Eri (who settled in Khemd) begat the Tornee who founded Marlak; and the Tornee begat the Si-Nadri, who live in Uadan and Marlak, as well as the Casteless Ones; and the Si-Nadri begat the Im-Talik of Imerkand. No firm dates are attached to the movement of these tribes.
Language
The Im-Talik speak Maliki, as often know Abur and/or Amunk too.
- Greetings—"Peace be unto you and your house," which is replied to with “And unto yours, friend.”
- Abur—This is the language family of North Kand.
- Amunk—The language of Uadan, and related to Ehmin.
- Maliki—Maliki is spoken in Imerkand by the Im-Talik peoples.
