Holy City, The
on Duhl Island, the Holy City is home of the magi. The city is built in a fertile crevasse on the isle's southern slopes in a ravine that cradles a bountiful, freshwater stream. That stream is said to have been created by Emir-Tal himself. At first glance, the city looks much like any other Emirkanian city, with its whitewashed walls, gardens, and colorfully decorated borders. Built as it is in a steep crevasse, this is a city of stairs, and they wind along the steep slopes throughout the city, from door to door, rooftop to rooftop, and from layer to intricate layer. The Holy City has no roads, nor does it have any need of them, for no carts, horses, or unhallowed beasts are allowed here. As a sacred place, the full-time residents keep the city spotless, and it smells only of flowers and incense. No women are allowed here, and eunuchs fill their domestic roles. The city nearly is silent, having only the surf, wind, and a susserance of prayer, as well as the daily calls of the muezzin. One must travel through the city to reach the Kabbac-Duhl.
Il-Jarr
Called the Jewel of Imerkand, Il-Jarr is the capital of the Caliphate of Imerkand. It is a large, beautiful, wealthy settlement full of sophistication and stunning water features. Il-Jarr is home to one third of Imerkand's standing navy.
Jerios
This city is called the Light of Imerkand, because of the blazing reflection from by its whitewashed walls. This port city has graceful minarets, long arcades, and onion-shaped roofs. Within its walls, there are cool, enclosed gardens with delightful fountains. This city is known for its silk and highly-prized rugs and tapestries. Jerios’ harbor is relatively small, but it is home to a third of Imerkand's standing navy.
