Becoming a Guardian Ritual

Partcipants and Key Roles

At the very first ceremony, there were no Guardians.   The key roles were taken by Incantus, God of Ancient Power and Isis Mystic, Goddess of Ancient Power. The other Ancient Power Gods (Mystic-Protogenoi) were in attendace as were many others.   After the gods left, Father Time, Father Winter, and Mother Nature took over the key roles as Officiant, Official Witness, and Official Overseer of Ritual. Other Witnesses included the leaders of each species. As the Guardians grew, they too were witnesses to later rituals.   However, Baxter is a different story.   Without Gods present and the species leaders' as well as being in the headquarters, his ceremony was truly a small and more intimate. The thirteen and Gertrude are the only ones at his ceremony.

Execution of Ritual

Oath Part

After accepting the Guardian title, the group then proceeds to the ritual.   The first part is the oath, inscribed within the opening passages of The Book of Ancient Power's Prophecies, that is the mission statement for all who guide the mystical world. The oath is milennia upon milennia old. Although the exact age is unconfirmed.   For a Guardian to take the oath, they kneel. Then they repeat the pledge after Father Time or Mother Nature.

Oath of Guardians of Childhood

I, (New Guardian’s Name), kneel before those with unwavering heart and steadfast spirit.   By the Spirit of Ancient Power and the mystical forces that weave within, I solemnly swear to wield Ancient Power and my abilities within with Light, Life, wisdom, loving unity, and peaceful harmony.   I pledge to use my powers for the greater good, to protect the innocent, and to defend the Light.   I honor the ancient bonds that unite us all.   For this I say with all my heart and all my soul, now and forevermore.

Spell Part

After the pledge comes the part where each Guardian begins his or her life as a Guardian of (?).   The spell is meant in invoke the main magical entity the Guardians know of but have not seen aka The Spirit of Ancient Power. He is the entity most often associated with the world of magic on Earth. Other than The Creators of course.
(New Guardian)   I call forth The Spirit of Ancient Power.   I call upon the leylines from sea to shining sea.   Rise to me!   (Guardians)   Come!   A new Guardian has awakened.   Let him/her receive what is rightfully theirs!
As the spell is cast, so too does the person normally loss control of their body. An invisible force often causes the eyes to glow gold and the body to float high in the air. The body is physiologically changed at this time. This process then is completed and the body is gently brought down. Real quick, the person gains control of their body and hears a voice.   The voice, being that of the Spirit, is a bit disconcerting and even scares the first-time listener. But the Spirit knows what new title(s) shall be bestowed to the new Guardian.   And so ends the ritual.   But once the ceremony is done, all may travel to visit The Book of Ancient Power's Prophecies where the book's pages discuss the new Guardians's powers and individual duties and responsibilities.
