The Way of Whisk and Wine is the loose, ever-shifting faith of the Phurr, centred around the worship of Lirash, the Laughing Shadow, and Furrasha, the Golden Belly. More a philosophy than a rigid doctrine, it encourages a life of cleverness, revelry, and boundless curiosity. There are no temples - only gathering halls, roadside shrines, and hidden alcoves where stories, tricks, and drinks are shared in their honour.
Priests, known as Talekeepers, act more as entertainers, gamblers, and mischief-makers than solemn guides. They spread the faith by telling grand stories, orchestrating elaborate pranks, or leading wild celebrations. The most revered among them, the Grand Whisker, is a figure of legend, said to be chosen not by divine will but by outwitting all rivals in a spectacularly cunning scheme.
Rituals are spontaneous, often tied to moments of success, daring escapes, or legendary feasts. To honour Lirash, one must prove their cleverness, whether through wit, deception, or daring gambits. To please Furrasha, one must embrace revelry, drink deeply, and never let a song go unsung. The faith holds no strict commandments - only a simple creed: Live well, laugh often, and leave behind a tale worth telling.
