In the hallowed annals of sages past, you now hold a collection of hidden wisdom - an ancient tome detailing the myriad uses of nature’s bounty. Herein lie the seeds of possibility for those daring enough to nurture - and harvest - the subtle powers slumbering under leaf and root. Let not the delicate petals and graceful stems deceive; many of these plants harbour forces capable of mending grievous wounds or wreaking untold havoc.   Consider this a cautionary overture: to embrace nature’s gifts without proper reverence is to invite disaster upon oneself and upon the world at large. Those who pluck the vines of power must mind their wards and carefully weigh each choice, lest they disturb the fragile balance between mortal toil and the deep spirits of the earth. May your studies be guided by wisdom and humility rather than greed, for the bounty of these pages is as dangerous as it is wondrous.   Read on, tread softly, and remember: the wild is neither friend nor foe. It merely is. And its secrets - like the ancient seeds you may cultivate - will either bless your harvest or unleash a bitter harvest upon you, should your ambition outstrip your respect for nature’s calm dominion.

I love articles like this. All the quotes and anecdotes really add life to it, even if it is primarily a list of what different plants/fungi do in regards to game mechanics. My favourite (after the fungi) is probably the whisperroot.

This reminds of me the old show the Pirates of Dark Water, but they tended to do these sorts of things with small animals rather than plants.

Interesting, have to look that up. :D

It was a great cartoon with great writing and awesome voice actors, but it didn't sell toys, so the never finished the series. They only found 8 of the lost 13 Treasures of Rule.

Aw, that's sad. :-(
