Brief Overview

The religion of Enigmatism is devoted to the worship of the The Unnamed God, and his domain of secrecy. Those who follow the Enigmatism faith will never advertise it as it goes against the belief of complete discretion. This belief was developed due to the fact that they both respect and fear their deity and because those who have openly worshipped the Unnamed god in the past were rarely heard from again...

General Overview

Not much is known about this religion due to the fact each time an Enigmatist surfaces in public they disappear shortly thereafter, leaving no time for philosophers and historians to study their faith. Rumors of the wickedness of the Unnamed god have circled Eden a million times over, however, only one witnessed account of this behavior was recorded. A previous saint who undertook apostasy spoke of their god briefly, but shortly after she too disappeared...

History

The below chant found in an ancient scroll is the only known hint towards the origin of the Enigmatists and their Unnamed deity.

Not much is known of the Unnamed god, though this is assumed to be due to his domain of secrecy, and his ability to wipe the history of items, creatures, and even people off the face of Eden.

Laws

The laws demanded by the Unnamed god are simple..

1. Forget all that you are.
2. Become what you should be.
3. Reject recollection.
4. Denounce the The Deorum Pantheon and worship only secrecy.
5. Tell no one your secrets.
6. Speak not of your faith.
7. Never speak your true name.

Mythology & Lore

"That which consumes you. Every hurtful thought, regret, trauma, sorrow. Each and every little heartache... I can take it all away, if only you serve me..." - The Unnamed God

It is said that when the Unnamed god approaches those he deems worthy he uses their pain to gain their permission and then wipes their memory clean of who they were before. They not only lose their recollection of their youth, but even their name is taken away from them. Once they have been wiped clean they are granted a new name by their secretive god and from then until the day they die that will be their title.
He does this in order to erase the regrets of his devout followers, but primarily his objective is to detach his new Enigmatist from their original loyalties and ties.

Before the War of Gods the worship of the Unnamed god was said to be done mainly by people suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and those who wished to repress the kind of memories that diminish their quality of life, however, after the calendar reset to TN (tari nova) the worship of the Unnamed god became outlawed for public safety.

Granted Divine Powers

Those who worship the Unnamed god are given a rather odd set of abilities and blessings, however, this is said to have varied from person to person. The Unnamed deity only granted his power to those he deemed as his Saints. The one saint to escape his grasp reported the following abilities:

• She was able to make other people temporarily forget things, places, and even people.
• She would constantly forget what she was doing, yet still end up where she needed to be.
• She had no idea her missions parameters and yet she'd complete them.
• The moment she'd leave an area all who witnessed her would immediately forget that she existed. This included saints, Divine Servants, and God/Goddesses.
• Any crime, event, or scenario that she was involved in would remain in the memories of those involved, however, if she left the line of sight of those who witnessed her they would forget her involvement.
• The ability to turn invisible.
• She was able to inflict additional damage against anyone with a secret, and if she knew that secret she would amplify their pain even more with each strike.
• And she could forcefully surface the repressed memories of those she targeted.

This allowed her to work in plain sight while still appearing as if she were operating from the shadows. Due to their specific skillsets the saints of the Unnamed god are rumored to be veteran agents of espionage.

Though all deceit requires secrecy, not all secrets are meant to deceive...
