Savage Hunters of the Outlands

The Savage Hunters of the Outlands are a band of gryphon-riding mercenary hunters on the lost colony of Meridian.

History

Around the time Meridian was recontacted by the Stellar Compact, they had their base in a Keeper ruin in the Outlands beyond the Druza Freeholds. After the Meridian Expedition's arrival, they worked as agents for the Keeper Norla and tried several times to kill the starmen, including by letting a T. rex loose in a peaceful village.

The final confrontation between the expedition and the Hunters occurred during the Battle Above Grand Arztilla, when their leader Tactacmolec commanded they engage in battle with the expedition's gryphon-riders and aven tag-alongs Felden and Zandra. Tactacmolec was killed when he started an aerial melee with Eric Conrad, who cut his harness straps and caused him to fall away into the harbor below. The second White-Masked Man assumed command of the Hunters and declared a truce, not wishing to fight the starmen any further.
