Yraelon Valcoran
Ouroboros Morbid
Yraelon Valcoran, son of Aelora and Taeron Valcoran, a son of the sun. His birth a testament to expansion. While he is not a chosen rider, the man stands tall in his own merits, championing himself in many aspects of Valyrian Culture. A seasoned fighter, an artist, and protector of his family’s name.
Appearance And Character
It is hard to deny that he is the spawn of his parents, being a young visage of his father. The man sports long flowing silvery-gold hair and violet eyes with a touch of amber at the very center. His features however, boast both a masculine and feminine touch, blending soft skin and the muscles of a fighter. The man’s hair is neatly kept in braids, or left to hang down to his shoulders whenever his father has become preoccupied and Yraelon thinks of him.
Yet in contrast to his features. Yraelon’s personality is less refined. From an early age he has been prone to episodes of being mute and silent, paired with the common plague of shifting moods that has touched both his father and uncle. He can be seen as a jovial man one moment, and a living flame the next, attempting to tear down anything and anyone that is in his path.
History
Early Life
As a young boy, Yraelon displayed an alarming tendency towards aggression, often letting violence precede rational thought. His family's reputation as both revered and feared in their community fueled his narcissistic inclinations, turning his arrogance, strength, and pride into formidable weapons. Yraelon's bond with his sister Rhaelyra was a rare source of solace, as they shared secrets and developed a unique sign language to communicate.
Many likened Yraelon to a living flame under a black sun, a fitting analogy for his fiery nature within House Valcoran. He harbored dreams of riding dragons and incessantly pestered his uncles, Aerax and Aelarys, for knowledge about them. This relentless pursuit led him to a fateful encounter with Curose, one of the Valcoran dragons, which left him mute for months. In his silence, Yraelon turned to art, creating vivid depictions of Curose.
However, Yraelon's anger grew, and he felt emasculated by the very dragons meant to secure his family's status among dragonlords. He channeled his rage into the fighting pits, where he became a favorite entertainment of Stadneir mo Azzehl, known as "Stozzel." Yraelon's youth and audacity in the pits raised questions about his survival, but it only fueled his determination.
It was only in the presence of his father, Taeron, during a night of music and storytelling, that Yraelon finally broke his silence. Taeron and Aelora shared stories of the Khalasar's destruction and Curose's flames, inspiring Yraelon to transform his anger into cunning. While violence still tainted his path, he now wielded it with the proper hilt, embracing the true essence of House Valcoran: "Look down...and fear naught."
Later Years - Current
Nowadays, Yraelon's life revolves around pushing boundaries. He indulges in the pleasures of hedonism, concealed behind veiled curtains and whispered secrets that vanish into the night. Simultaneously, he is acutely aware of the importance of upholding his family name through any means necessary. Yraelon operates like a serpent, seeking out even the smallest vulnerabilities to exploit and dismantling barriers in the name of his house.
In his free moments, he aspires to become the future owner of the slave pits, a goal he shares with his mother—a woman he both fears and deeply admires. Beyond this ambition, he finds joy in engaging in mischief with his uncle Aerax, feeling a closer bond with him than with his own half-brother.
