Aeon of the Depths
Most of us are afraid to think too much about what might be hiding far below the surface. We don't want to imagine the terrors such as the Kraken reaching up and devouring us. But what would you imagine goes on in the mind of that terrible sea monster? What do you think it fears from the depths?
No one has ever been able to see all of Leviathan at once. The creature is immense beyond understanding. Its many eyes are the size of buildings or bigger, its tentacles can reach for several hundred kilometres. Some say that in so far that the
Writhing Depths has an actual seafloor at the bottom - that floor
is the Leviathan and any encounter higher up is only with a small part of its body.
The thick blackish hide is covered in enormous grey-blue mottled carapace covered in sea-life. While it has certainly been known to devour any creature it isn't happy with, the Leviathan seems to have no need to eat or sleep. It rests and only occasionally moves through its realm, keeping an eye on it.
Some mistake the very primal aspects of Leviathan for being stupid. In actuality, it is a brilliant being who has been around for billions of years. But it does not need intricate language or mere humans to understand it. Whatever it plans, it will do what it needs when it needs it. It doesn't ow any explanation to anyone else.
Out of all the strange beings, Leviathan is one of the hardest to understand. Sometimes it lashes out with extreme violence and destroyed everything in its path. Sometimes it is dormant, so long others suspect that it has vanished o good. It is unpredictable and powerful. Even to those, it speaks through its mind; it is hard to know what it actually wants beyond the immediate demand.
