Taldirin
Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
Taldirin is the capital, and largest settlement, of the Archduchy of Taldir. The city is located at the mouth of Taldir’s Gate, which was named after the city. Taldirin is a major trade stop, mostly thanks to the close proximity to Debye Pass.
Demographics
Taldirin's demography is varied, yet still somewhat polarized. Humans comprise circa 40% of the city's population, nearly 30% are dwarves, 10% are gnomes. The rest is spread between half elves, half-orcs and half-giants, with small numbers of other half-breeds such as tieflings, genasis and aasimars. Its dwarven population is the largest in Lake Kadia.
Industry & Trade
Taldirin’s industry focuses heavily on metal production. Most of the craftsmen workshops are geared towards smelting, blacksmithing, forging and other metalworking occupations.
Aside from metalworking, Taldirin also specializes in a hospitality and tourism. The close proximity to Debye Pass makes Taldirin a lucrative resting stop for merchants, travelers and Andorian pilgrims who walk the path of Agustin Andor from his birthplace to Ammand.
