Al-Jamansi Sultanate

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
Al-Jamansi Sultanate, which is best translated from Southkhan to "Sultanate of the Righteous".

Structure

Qalimat al-Tanin is officially ruled by the Makur, a ceremonial leader who carries little real power. In practice, the island is run by powerful nobles, mystics, and the influential monks of its monasteries, most of whom are covertly influenced by the Nars Duchies. The Rahm-Rurim, a group of advisors, handles the day-to-day operations of the government, and many of these advisors have ties to the Nars Duchies.

History

Incorporation into Buqmat

While unaware of the true nature of the Nars Duchies' influence, eventually assimilated Qalimat al-Tanuor into their sultanates as a vassal-island. The local government is structured under Buqmat's rule, but behind the scenes, the Nars Duchies continue to pull the strings, ensuring that their interests are well-served.   This incorporation allowed the Sultanate to take control effectively over all Asnan al-Tanin.

Religion

The Sultanate's religious practices are deeply tied to the ancient Arqmati Pantheon, and many of the island's inhabitants continue to worship dark, elemental gods who demand sacrifices in exchange for power. The Sultanate is also home to cults devoted to forbidden deities, including those venerated by the Nars Duchies.

Foreign Relations

The Sultanate is on good relations with the Kingdom of Anska.

Trade & Transport

The Sultanate's economy is built on the export of gemstones, spices, textiles, magical goods, and luxury items. The port of Qalimat al-Tanuor in Niwar City is a key trade hub in the Obari Ocean, attracting merchants and travelers from all over the world. While the island is renowned for its elemental magic, geniekin, and ancient ruins, the true wealth and magical potential of Qalimat al-Tanuor lie in its obscure connections to the Nars Duchies and the dark gods they worship.
