Rohen inspects the walls and thinks about how he’ll probably have to reinforce the roof if he wanted to riding hawk’s land.
The ceiling is about 10-11 feet high and there’s a bit of an attic.
Rohen finds roof repair materials in the attic.
The attic isn’t obvious from the outside, but it isn’t really hidden in the inside.
Rohen can hear there might be a basement and finds a hatch downward hidden under a rug.
In the basement are lots of spider webs and 2 barrels.
One barrel is marked “oil” and the other is marked “wine”. They slosh a lot when tipped, so they are only maybe a quarter full.
The oil barrel smells of olive oil (a local product) and the wine.
As he leaves, Rohen recovers the hatch with the rug.
Rohen agrees to buy the property and asks about if she knows architects or constructors who can shore up the building.
The realtor admits there are contractors they could recommend, but suggests Rohen ask his associate, Fortifier of Hearts & Bones.
Rohen wonders aloud if Fortifier might be too busy with the grand opening of Golden Laurels right now.
At the mention of a casino owned by Plentimon, the realtor recalls having met Bares-Fangs-at-the-Sun while gambling recently.
Rohen explores the surrounding area. It’s a relatively upscale neighborhood, dense but not too dense.
There’s a whiff of tanneries nearby but they’re a ways away, across Nexus Pool.
Some time later, a runner arrives saying that the lady Gesatti has contacted the Architect Umula who can work with him, but it is the end of the work day.
Rohen asks Malka for her take on the area.
Malka is somewhat disgusted by how little manual work the people here seem to do.

Rarida looks for a place to dock his ship. Nexus has many docks, each with varying levels of security and privacy.
Nighthammer Pool seems to have the best option.
Rarida asks the dockmaster if he can pay extra to not be on the official books. The dockmaster agrees to this, but says he only does that for the first day

On the dock is a building and on the building is the mon for House V’neef.
If Rarida wanted to accept the offer of V’neef Aspen, he could likely enter there and ask to send word.

Fortifier somewhat suspects Ophris Vanuatu because Ophris is the clan next in power and maybe Vanuatu is planning to position themselves for prominence
However, we find out that Ophris Vanuatu is the sibling of the missing tanist and is one of the ones who staunchly believes the tanist is still alive.
Dreamflower’s Meditations on Rivalry indicates the criminal we’re looking for isn’t one of these 4, so we look to the captains.
