A Story Untold

Yevin as a person has provided several different explanations for his origins, all of which contradict each other and provide no clear information as to his true origin. Much speculation abounds as to why this egnimatic anthropologist keeps his backstory cunningly hidden. Rumors of everything from overbearing rich parents, to fleeing Mira's Marshalling Corps, to A secret love he wishes to protect have swirled around him as he has traveled across the Mortal Lands searching for new creatures great and small.

Origin 1

Yevin was a young schoolboy born in the mountains of Dalreme when he came upon a most curious creature; a great cat with a mane that shone like the sun. Entranced by this creature, He set off across the land with nothing but his backpack full of schoolbooks to learn more about it and other creatures. However, since the Mana Neamhai only appears to members of the royal family, this origin is easily refuted.

Origin 2

Yevin was apprenticed to an old and catankerous zookeeper deep in the hills of Shimshar, who abused the animals that were under his care by order of the King. One night, unable to take any more of the abuse, Yevin released all the creatures from their cages and fled on the back of a great Olipuant. However, there is no record of such a royal zoo existing, at least not in the location he claims.

Origin 3

Yevin studying at the University of Poartlind When a visiting professor brought the most preculiar specimen to class; A Celestial Sprites, kept in a blacked-out cage. One day, the Sprite escaped and vanished into his chest, filling him with an urge to flee. So flee he did, and never stopped running. However, no one has managed to catch, let alone contain a Celestial Sprite.

Regardless of his origins, no one can deny that the realm of anthropology and animal care has surged to new prominence under Yevin's careful and kind gaze.

Exploits of an Anthropologist

Yevin has wandered near every stretch of the Mortal Lands, and his writings on the creatures that inhabit it are essential for any young zookeeper, wrangler or budding anthropologist. Perhaps most valuable are his insights on the Wyrld Walkers, those great beasts who have long since left their imprint on the Mortal Lands.
Yevin has never remained in one place for long, drifting from one land or kingdom to the next as if carried by the very winds of fortune. This has only added to the rumors that surround the man, and the potential dangers he runs from in his past. No party held in his honor or ceremony of his achievements can lure him into remaining more than a fortnight-The next day he will be gone, celebrations be dammed.
