The Blood of the Feywild is a magical orange orb held by Yxjun, the king of the Unseelie Court. It is a fragment that was stolen from the Heart of the Feywild, originally a much larger artifact owned by Nellara, queen of the Seelie Court. It is unclear whether Yxjun's power feeds the Blood of the Feywild, or if the Blood of the Feywild is the source of Yxjun's power - either way, it remains in his possession at all times, and he has not been seen without it. Yxjun is incredibly possessive of the orb, and very adverse to questions about it.
Being zapped by a bolt from the Blood is incredibly painful. Though it does no permanent damage in most cases, the skin where it hits becomes grey, with accentuated black blood vessels. If the bolts happen to strike an eye with a strong enough charge, that eye is likely to become blinded. An eye blinded with the Blood then gains the appearance of a black sclera with a grey iris and white pupil. A strike near the ears can cause deafness, and a strike to the nose or mouth can cause a loss of smell or taste respectively.
Look, the story surrounding the orb is not one I like to share. With anyone. Don't get bitter just because I won't tell it to you .
Appearance
The Blood of the Feywild is a small orange orb, just small enough to be able to hold in one hand. It hums with energy, lightning-like charges snapping off of its surface and reaching towards anything that comes close to it. It seems to pulse with this energy, transitioning between a dim glow and a bright one in a pattern of two close beats and then a short pause. This pulse matches that of the Heart of the Feywild, though the Heart has a much softer and calmer exterior than the Blood. The Heart is also ever so slightly larger than the Blood - though Yxjun detests the mention of this.Being zapped by a bolt from the Blood is incredibly painful.
